Cassie named as EXCLUSIVE speaker at the Buckeye Valley BIA Home & Garden Show!
This is the kind of event I have been working toward for the past three years, I am so excited! Today I met with Debbie and Chuck, event coordinators for the Buckeye Valley Building Industry Association Home & Garden Show, April 1-3. I’ve been one of the speakers for them the past two years, but this year they have asked me to be their EXCLUSIVE speaker for the whole event! The schedule is up to me!
Of course, I will offer the 10 Basics of Square Foot Gardening several times throughout the weekend, but I’m also going to offer a series of smaller workshops, as well. Some of my ideas are Fruit in the SFG, Extending the Seasons, Protecting the SFG, Build Your Own SFG mini workshop, Composting Basics. I will also have more information about a wonderful line of organic, non-toxic lawn and garden products that I represent from The Happy Gardener.
I have two months to plan my presentations, design the booth and get my demo gardens growing! I’ll need volunteers and lots of photos.
What more about SFG would you like to know? Tell me!

Hi Cassie, Congrats on being THE exclusive speaker!! I could volunteer to help you with this. What do you need and when would you need help?
I am from the Rosewood Garden Club in Dresden. You were going to speak at our meeting in Jan. that we had to cancel. We would love to have you speak at our Feb. 22nd meeting if that would work for you. It is at 6:30pm.
Let me know when you need help and if you can make our Feb. meeting
Warmly,
Cindy
ps What do you think of the sfg kits sold at Sam’s club?

Hi Cindy,
Obviously, I am not blogging frequently enough! I had a great time at the Rosewood Garden Club on Tuesday and look forward to doing more with your group on the future. I have not seen the kits at Sam’s Club. It is probably the same ones I sell? I just looked on line and found this raised bed from Greenland Composites. This is the same company that makes the official SFG garden bed (I’ve met the owner) and (dare I point this out?) the Sam’s Club garden bed is a better deal! It is sad for me, but great for you! You get a 4′ x 8′ bed for $52.46 (why such weird pricing?) and mine sells for $50 for a 4×4. Of course the SFG box includes the grid and landscape fabric and the Greenland product does not. You would simply have to get a couple of grids to add to these boxes (I sell the wood grids for $15) and add a weed barrier. Even so, it is a great deal. I will have to get over to Sam’s Club and see if they have the official SFG Garden Kit. … Cassie
